The Whites MXT is also known as the MXT Tracker or MXT E series detector. From the manufacturer site "One metal detector with three completely separate operating modes. Just toggle switch between gold prospecting, coin/jewelry or relic. The MXT™ Tracker™ becomes a specialized metal detector for that type of treasure." The MXT also comes equipped with automatic ground balance, gain, control, threshold control, dual control for fine tuning discrimination, , a two year warranty covering parts and labor, and a "Waterproof Eclipse 950 9" search coil for maximum depth".

On the White's Site they have an MXT diary by Gordon S Gibson which overviews in detail some of the features of the MXT also providing some screen shots of the program menus and saying "You really do have three different detectors in one and most of all, it is fun to use." They review the Coin and Jewelry mode, Relic Mode, Prospecting mode, give an explanation of the MXT's trigger mode, quick ground balancing tutorial and more. They also provide four weeks of field testing results with the White's MXT and conclude with "The MXT is a magnificent multi-purpose detector!"

Exploring further on the White's pages I came across this Engineering report for the MXT (they need to link these from the MXT product page also) which is "written to provide dealers and customers greater insight into what kind of product the MXT is, from an engineering perspective" and is an interesting read. The MXT engineering report covers a brief history of the White's brand then goes on to explain about the MXT the circuit design, software, ground tracking system, vsat system, discrimination control, gain control, and more. An excellent overview of what the nuts and bolts of the MXT are all about.

One of the best magazines in the world, Lost Treasure magazine, has a lengthy review and field test of the White's MXT. The field tests are nice mentioning the MXT doing well in poorly mineralized ground with the reviewer locating some silver as one of the first finds and they also mention some of their experiences in relic mode, and offer a suggestion for an alternative coil in high trash areas with the MXT. In conclusion they note "The MXT has obviously been designed with input from end-users and deserves a serious look if you are looking for a new, high-end detector."

Masstreasure has a four page discussion on the White's MXT liking the very large meter display, quick and easy ground balancing, and sensitivity and stability of the detector but thing it may be a bit difficult for a new detectorist to learn. They also speak extensively on techniques for ground balancing the MXT, using the trigger, and other detecting techniques. In conclusion they say "The MXT performed well in every mode it offered. I would recommend this detector to anyone that wanted a little of everything, but didn't have the money to purchase three machines." A great bookmark for anyone interested in the Whites MXT.

Metal Detector Reviews currently has 20 reviews of the Whites MXT Tracker giving it a rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars and a sure stop for anybody interested in purchasing an MXT and want to see what real people say about the detector. I only see one negative review of the MXT where the reviewer doesn't like the stock coil on the MXT and complains about the poor overall results, then there are 19 mostly positive reviews liking everything about the MXT from the versatility of the multiple detecting modes to the great ground balancing. There are also a few stories of finds made with the White's MXT.

We can't vouch for the next link because it's a password protected forum, however it's been suggested for Whites MXT users a couple times here. If you're a Whites MXT user it might be worth your time to stop by Rogers Relics UK and have a look around. (Update, it's now a public forum)
