Tesoro Cibola

The
Tesoro Cibola is a metal detector "designed for the treasure hunter that does not want to bother with too many controls" and is "perfect detector for both the metal detecting novice as well as the treasure hunter that has been around for a while." Some of the Cibola's features include MicroMax design, one 9v battery, ultra-lightweight design, and a 9x8 monolithic coil.

You know them, you love them, so here's a
Lost Treasure Magazine review of the Tesoro Cibola. They offer a few tips specific to Tesoro metal detectors that are worth the visit alone, such as super tuning and a ground balancing tip for the Cibola. They also have a good field test where they discuss some tricks and their finds. They conclude with "the Cibola is well suited for wide range of applications and its ease-of-use makes it ideal for newcomers to the hobby, detectorists that would rather hunt than adjust, or as a backup detector to your current unit."

In cased you breezed by it at the Tesoro Site, here's their
Field Test of the Cibola. We love field tests because they usually offer a tip or two on the specific detector, and this review is no different, including suggestions on how to tune the threshold, sensitivity, etc. Here's a snippet to get you interested in visiting the site: "The Cibola tugs at its leash like a well-trained hunting dog waiting to be let loose and go hunting! Treasure hunting that is! The Cibola will be at the top of the list of competition machines for sure, but that is just one segment of our hobby in which this detector will excel."

Reading through the positive reviews at
Metal Detector Reviews of the Tesoro Cibola had me taking another look at the metal detector. As of this writing there are twelve reviews rating the Cibola with 4.9 out of 5 stars, and it looks like there is a unanimous conclusion that this metal detector goes DEEP. Personally I'm shopping around for a detector with a graphical id, however it that wasn't one of my criteria, the price on the Cibola along with some of the positive feedback might put the metal detector on my "possibly" list.

Garys Detecting has a
Tesoro Cibola Review on their Tesoro page where they seem to really like the detector. They summed things up with this "Yes this is a new 'hot' Tesoro, no bells or whistles just raw power combined with good Iron rejection...what more can a relic hunter ask for." In addition to their review they also offer a rating of the detector and cover it's discrimination, sensitivity, threshold, and more plus show off a few of their excellent finds made with the Tesoro Cibola Metal Detector.
