Garrett Gti 1500

The Garrett Gti 1500 is your younger sibling to the Gti 2500 with a MSRP of $799. The GTI stands for Graphic Target Imaging which "displays a target's true size and depth with colorful, easy to read graphics". The GTI 1500 also comes equipped with a 9.5 inch imaging search coil, power master circuitry, automatic ground tracking, and the search modes for coins, jewelry, relics, zero, and custom. I've also seen the sales copy say about the GTI 1500 "Designed with the serious coinshooter in mind".

Let's swing by Metal Detector Reviews where they have six reviews of the Garrett GTI 1500 rating the detector overall with 4.7 out of 5 stars. There are a couple negative points of the Gti 1500 in one review noting the limitation of possible target id's, and limitation of available imaging search coils, and a few other concerns (check out the reviews) but every other word is positive. The reviewers love the imaging feature cutely saying the GTI 1500 is "worth its weight in coins", they also like the lighter weight than the 2500, and many other features and note multiple times that if you're a coin shooter, this is the detector for you.

Toms Treasures is the most navigation friendly site, but they do have some Garrett metal detector reviews on one page (perfect for comparison viewing) and if you scroll a bit they have a field test of the Gti 1500. Like every other text on the 1500 this is no different and mentions the 1500 being a great detector for hunting coins. There is also one concern about the GTI 1500 that it soaks up the batteries too quick, however they offer a tip for conserving your battery life so be sure to stop by this field test to read the entire thing.

If Lost Treasure Magazine has a field test of a detector we post, we're linking to it. If it's a new review, good for us, if it's a blast from the past like the 1998 review of the GTI 1500, we can take a look back at some history on the detector and how it's been used/performing. This review recommends the GTI 1500 listing some of the great features then moves onto the field test where they find some silver and coins and mention finding treasure in places they've already detected with other detectors. Nice read for the Gti 1500 enthusiast.

You can get the latest and probably fair price on the Garrett Gti 1500 at Amazon.com (it's on sale as of this writing). Yes they only have a few detectors for sale there and the gti 1500 happens to be one of them. There aren't any reviews their currently so If you buy one be sure to leave feedback for the next detectorist interested in the Gti 1500. Here's what Amazon had to say about the detector "The Garret GTI 1500 metal detector is a coin shooter that's loaded with exciting technology. With instant feedback capabilities, the GTI 1500 indicates the kind of target you've detected as well as its size, depth and pinpoint location."
