Garrett Ace 150

The Garrett Ace 150 is the little brother to the
Ace 250 and probably the cheapest detector you can buy and still get the great Garrett reputation behind it. The Ace 150 was designed for "coin and general purpose treasure hunting" and comes equipped with graphic target id, coin depth indicator, 3 levels of tone id, 6.5x9 inch waterproof coil that is interchangeable, 4 sensitivity settings, and full range, multi notch discrimination modes.
Garys Detecting site has a review of the Garrett Ace 150 authored by "a complete novice". They like that the Ace 150 is easy to assemble, describe the three hunting modes, then go onto discuss their field test of the Ace 150. They close with a picture of some of their great finds and unfortunately leaving the review "to be continued", which I can't seem to find the continuation on the review :-(. But if you're interested in the Ace 150 it's still an interesting read for a few novice pointers.

Here's an
interesting read about the Ace 150 if you're not familiar with the Garrett brand name. A user posts that their Ace 150 was dead on arrival when receiving it, and followed by multiple opinions. The user sends the Ace 150 back to Garrett, who even though they can't find any problems with the detector, send the user a new one anyway. Wow, great customer service and a company that stands behind their products, Garrett!
Metal Detector Shop UK has a review of the Garrett Ace 150 starting off by reviewing the features then getting into a field test. They review how the Ace 150 behaves at various sites including the beach, a roman site, high iron environments, and discuss the Ace 150's response speed. In conclusion the review rates the Ace 150 well for those interested in their first detector or somebody wanting a detector that's light on their finances saying with Garrett you get allot of "bangs for your bucks".
Lost Treasure Magazine has a review of the Ace 150 and also some field test results. They think the Ace 150 is allot of fun for the detectorist that doesn't want to spend allot of money and end with "The new Ace 150 offers surprising performance as well as features not found on detectors anywhere near this price range." And don't forget that Lost Treasure is a great magazine, so consider subscribing while you visit.
