The 1280-x is an underwater metal detector from Fisher Labs. They say about the 1280-X's features: "The deep seeking, submersible, Aquanaut features automatic turn on-and-go operation for salt water, fresh water or land use. VLF discrimination, target strength LED and our patented quartz-crystal circuitry offers up to 75 hours of battery life. Rugged and affordable."
Well it may be one of the most popular underwater metal detectors in the world, but the Fisher 1280-X is definetely not very much written about on the internet. So let's head back over to Fisher where they have an archived review of the 1280-X from Wester and Eastern Treasure magazine. (Note, the link goes to a PDF file). Visit Here. It's a lengthly review with many 1280-x stories and concludes with "I can only say that those who choose the Fisher 1280-X Aquanaut will find it performs as well, if not
better, than some detectors costing hundreds of dollars more"
