GarrysDetecting has a quick review of the Whites DFX giving the detector a rating of 7 out of 10. They like about the DFX the quality and good features, offering a few tips for adjusting the DFX's frequency. They do list a few negative points however including the difficulty in learning the DFX, inaccurate readings, having to adjust settings to almost every new environment, and conclude with "Whites can bring out a better machine than this".
